The Founder of the Johnnie Walker brand was John Walker, a grocer. Johnnie Walker is now owned by Diageo that originated in the Scottish burgh of Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire. After the death of John Walker in 1859, the brand was taken over by his son, Alexander Walker, who helped turn it into the global superpower that it is today. It is now the most widely distributed brand of blended Scotch whisky in the world, sold in almost every country.

Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve is a blended Scotch whisky that is crafted to perfection using award-winning whiskies, including fruity Highland malts such as Clynelish and lighter Speyside malts for sweetness and spice, combined with those from the Scottish islands for the signature smoky finish. Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve is a Gold Medal award-winning blend created by Master Blender Jim Beveridge to celebrate nearly 200 years of the art of blending.

Before 2013, Gold Label was bottled at 18 years and carries the name “The Centenary blend”. In 2013, was renamed “Gold Label Reserve”, and now carries no age statement.
