Description
Shinjiro Torii at the age of 20 had a dream to “create an original Japanese spirit blessed with the riches of Japanese nature and ‘monozukuri’ craftsmanship: a relentless pursuit for perfection, meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.” He then founded the House of Suntory in 1899 to pursue his dream.
Suntory Kakubin Japanese Whisky was first created in 1937 by Shinjiro Torii himself, as Suntory's first Master Blender. It was launched as Suntory Whisky however due to its unique tortoise-shell bottle design, it was renamed Kakubin in Japanese which translate to a square bottle. That name and square-cut, tortoise-shell design have remained for more than 80 years, a symbol of Suntory's commitment to unwavering quality.
Bottled at the standard 40% ABV, Suntory Kakubin Japanese whisky has a sweet aroma, rich flavour, and dry finish, Kakubin is a highly versatile whisky, and the Kakubin highball is the go-to for many Japanese when they go out for a night of food and drink. It's affordable, refreshing, and easy to make at home! Fill a highball glass with ice. Squeeze over a wedge of lemon into a glass, add the Suntory Whisky Kakubin and top with cold soda water. Stir and enjoy!
