What Is “The Finish”?

The Five Finish Categories

1. SHORT (<30 seconds)

• Examples: Glenmorangie 10, Auchentoshan American Oak
• Character: Clean, refreshing, palate-clearing
• Best for: Casual drinking, hot weather, tasting flights
• Is short bad? NO! Perfect for Malaysian heat! ☀️

2. MEDIUM (30-60 seconds)

How to Properly Evaluate Finish

STEP 1: Take a decent sip, swish gently, swallow slowly
STEP 2: Close mouth, breathe through nose, notice which flavors HIT first
STEP 3: Keep mouth closed 15-60 seconds, notice flavors CHANGING
STEP 4: Time it! When do you NO LONGER taste whisky?
