Tiger Bundle - Singleton Glen Ord 18 Years [700ML] [GIFTSET] x 2 RM405 = RM810
Singleton Glen Ord was founded in the year 1838, by Thomas Mackenzie in the Black Isle, a peninsula of rich, dark loam which is perfect for growing barley. Today, the Singleton Glen Ord distillery is only remaining single malt Scotch whisky distillery left in the Black Isle.
The distillery had to close twice. Once in 1917, where barley restrictions during the first World War halted production in order to preserve barley for food supplies, and again in the year 1939 due to World War II. One of the distilleries old warehouse was converted to a visitor centre complete with an exhibition area in 1994.
Diageo was lacking behind rivals on their single malt range and in view of this, launched the Singleton single malt range in 2006, starting with Glen Ord, followed by Glendullan and Dufftown a year later. The brand’s success led to a major expansion at Glen Ord in 2014 that doubled production capacity. The three individual single malts were each given its own separate market initially. Glen Ord was for the Asia market, Glendullan for the US and Canada market and finally Dufftown for the European market. Today, all three brands are available globally.
Singleton Glen Ord 18 Years is a Highland single malt scotch whisky that is less spicy, more mature, slightly darker in colour, and deeper in flavour than the 12-year-old. A very sophisticated and well-structured old Singleton that balances a rich fruitiness with a gentle aromatic dryness. Beautifully finished and leaning toward dryness while maintaining an enduring, and appetising sweetness. Re-invented as part of Diageo’s ‘Singleton’ range for the Japanese market. Bottled at the standard 40% ABV.
Sweet fruits with notes of chocolate and sherry wood.
Honey with hints of spice, oak and caramel.
Long woody caramel finish.
