A great whisky drinker’s whisky - this 15 year old Glenfarclas from the family-run distillery is bottled at 46% abv simply because the owner’s grandfather preferred it that way.
They say fathers build, sons expand, and grandsons destroy. But that was not the case with this family. Every progeny made the Spirit-making business stronger while still keeping the ancient recipe intact. This is the perfect Scotch for fathers of all generations.
The maker of this Spirit is one of the few remaining independentand family-owned distilleries in Scotland. It was started in 1836 by Robert Hay, and bought by John Grant a few decades later. Nowadays it's run by the 6th generation of the Grant family, making it truly independent.
This Glenfarclas 10 Year Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky is matured in Orlonso sherry casks. Gloriously smooth, yet with the depth and finish you would normally expect of a much older dram.
A wonderfully sherried whisky and excellent aperitif.
