Ginraw Gastronomic Gin is produced in Vilafranca del Penedes by Mediterranean Premium Spirits S.L from Spain. The brand was founded by a joint enterprise between marketers Roger Burgues and Luis Jauregui, both of whom were working in the spirits and luxury industry before they decided to create their brand and a gin with the spirit of their beloved city of Barcelona. The duos recruited four members using their established connections, Xano Saguer (Chef), Rosendo Mateu (Maitre Parfumeur), Sergi Figueras (Sommelier) and lastly Javier Caballero (Mixologist). Although they all come from different backgrounds, each individual shares the same passion for the city of Barcelona.
Xano Saguer, the chef, is a confectioner, a pastry chef, a founding partner of the world’s first dessert-only restaurant and also the founder of a prestigious pastry school. Rosendo Mateu, the Parfumeur started his career in 1968 and has over 50 years of experience in developing perfumes. Segi Figueras, the sommelier, was from Cerdanya and upon arriving in Barcelona, he immediately fell in love with the city and went on to become one of the finest sommeliers in Spain. Javier Caballero, the mixologist is the Founder and director of Liquid Experience.
Ginraw is produced with a combination of modern gastronomic techniques and traditional spirit distillation methods. A unique low-temperature distilling method via the use of a Rotaval, a specific type of evaporator from the Haute cuisine and traditional copper stills.
There are only 5000 bottles made in a batch with each Ginraw bottle individually numbered. The taste may vary slightly from batch to batch due to the distillation process of the ingredients. Bottled at 42.3% ABV.
