Concept 8: Dailuaine 8 Years [700ML]

Concept 8 or The Water of Fortune, is an exciting whisky brand concept with an auspicious theme. Every single bottle released are 8 years old Single Malt Scotch whisky celebrating prosperity and good fortunes.

The number 8 signifies prosperity and are signs of good fortune in many Eastern Asian countries and throughout the world. Predominantly in the Chinese culture, 8 is considered to be the most prosperous number and the more 8 the better.

Global Whisky invented Concept 8, a celebration of Asia’s centuries-old tradition of wealth, fortune and prosperity through an affordable yet limited selection of 8 years old Single Malt Scotch. Only 8 casks of whisky are used from each distillery to create each limited-edition batch. All bottles are 700ML and bottled at 40.8% ABV.

William Mackenzie, a farmer from the Speyside town of Carron, built Dailuiane distillery in 1852. Dailuiane derives from the Scottish Gaelic ‘An dail uaine’ which translates to green valley. The Dailuaine distillery is situated in the Speyside region of Scotland taking its water from the Bailliemullich Burn, located right next to the distillery.

Single Malt bottlings from Dailuiane distillery are uncommon and only a handful of official releases through Diageo Flora and Fauna range or the Manager’s Drams range. Only about 2% of the distillery’s total production is marketed as Single Malt bottling while the bulk are being used for blending in the Johnnie Walker range.

Concept 8 Dailuiane 8 Years Release 3 is a small batch from Dailuiane Distillery. The American Oak Hogsheads casks were filled in on February 2013 and a total of 2724 bottles were produced.

Dark Amber.

Light sweet aromatic notes of creamy vanilla, honey with hint of butter.

Remarkable balanced flavours of spice, cinnamons, peppers with sweet melon and toffee. 

Long finish with notes of spice oak flavours.
