Concept 8 or The Water of Fortune, is an exciting whisky brand concept with an auspicious theme. Every single bottle released are 8 years old Single Malt Scotch whisky celebrating prosperity and good fortunes.
The number 8 signifies prosperity and are signs of good fortune in many Eastern Asian countries and throughout the world. Predominantly in the Chinese culture, 8 is considered to be the most prosperous number and the more 8 the better.
Global Whisky invented Concept 8, a celebration of Asia’s centuries-old tradition of wealth, fortune and prosperity through an affordable yet limited selection of 8 years old Single Malt Scotch. Only 8 casks of whisky are used from each distillery to create each limited-edition batch. All bottles are 700ML and bottled at 40.8% ABV.
Blair Athol Distillery was founded by John Steward and Robert Robertson in 1798. The distillery is located on the south edge of Pitlochry in Perthshire, near River Tummel. Originally Aldour distillery, named after the Allt Dour Burn that the distillery draws water from. The new and current name of Blair Athol was changed in 1825, after a village seven miles to the north.
During the economic troubles of the 1930s, like many other distilleries, Blair Athol fell silent from 1932 to 1949. Blair Athol distillery revived during the 1970s after being rebuilt and even launched an 8 years old bottle in the 1980s.
Concept 8 Teaninich 8 Years Release 2 is a Limited-Edition Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky released in 2021. A small batch of only 10 American Oak Hogsheads casks were filled in on January 2013.
Golden Amber.
Aromatic and light with notes of lemon cake, coffee and nutty almonds.
Intensely malty with earthy oak wood and sweet orchard fruits.
Long finish with nutty chocolate, lemon zest and touch of spice.
