Description
Granted a license to distill in 1608, Bushmills is the oldest licensed whisky distillery in the world.
Along the north coast of Ireland, where arctic storms rage against the jagged cliffs and where the crisp waters of the River Bush cut through volcanic rock, generations have passed down an ancient distilling tradition.
Bushmills Single Malt Whiskey 16 year old is truly one of the great whiskeys of the world. This single malt shows its layers of flavor, juicy fruits, nuts and spice, as well as a hint of ruby redness. It’s best enjoyed neat. Okay, maybe one small cube of ice to open it up.
The 16 year old Bushmills builds on the gentle smoothness of the 10 year old and possess pleasant fruity characters with distinct notes of nuts and spice. The whiskey is initially aged separately for 15 years in both bourbon and sherry casks then these are married together into port wine barrels for extra finishing. The port-infused casks add notes of juicy red fruits flavours, with subtle sweetness of candy and chocolate.
